About Us
Malaysia is entering a new demographic reality as the nation moves towards becoming an ageing society. Longer life expectancy, rising chronic illnesses, and extended recovery periods after hospitalisation are increasing the demand for reliable caregiving, rehabilitation support, and long-term care services.
At the same time, many families face challenges in accessing reliable and affordable care services. Professional caregiving support remains limited and fragmented, and in many cases, accessible primarily to higher-income households. This leaves a large segment of families seeking dependable care options that are both professional and affordable.
SaraEmas is a developmental initiative designed to strengthen Malaysia’s care ecosystem while creating new economic opportunities for communities. The initiative develops a trained caregiving workforce, connects caregivers with families and care providers, and expands access to professional care services through a digital platform. Importantly, SaraEmas also supports inclusive workforce development by providing training and employment pathways for individuals from underserved communities, including the B40 group, enabling them to build sustainable careers within the growing care economy.
By combining workforce development, community-based care services, and technologyenabled coordination, SaraEmas aims to support families, create meaningful employment, and contribute to a more resilient and inclusive care system for Malaysia.
The initiative is developed in alignment with the National Caregiving Framework led by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, supporting national efforts to strengthen caregiving services, workforce development, and community-based care.
